Our Church Building Project
We are working to raise funds for a new building! See our current progress and goal, hear testimonies of what God has been doing in the church, and learn of Pastor Cartwright's vision for this new building in the video above!
A Church is Born: How it All Began

Calvary Independent Baptist Church was founded in 1977 when God called Pastor John Cartwright from his job as Liberty University’s head football coach to move to his home area of Delaware County, Pennsylvania to begin the church. The first service was held in a Masonic Hall in Prospect Park, PA in September 1977, and the church met there on Sundays for five years. Midweek services were held in a variety of buildings in the neighborhoods around Delaware County, and God began to grow this young church. In 1982, God opened the door for the church to purchase the Kedron Elementary School building located in Ridley Township. This building, which was built in 1875, has served the church well; but the problems which come with aging, the need for handicap accessibility, and the need for more facilities for ministry have led the church family to prepare to build a new building. The cost to renovate would supersede the costs of building new. Plans have been developed to build a new building at the property where we now meet, and we are just waiting for God to provide the needed funs so we can break ground. God has led the church to begin this capital gifts campaign to “Do Our Part with All of Our Heart” to lead the church and its family of friends to join together in bringing this vision to fruition.
When Should We Build? Now Is The Time!

Calvary Independent Baptist Church began its meeting place in rented facilities in Prospect Park and then purchased the Kedron School on Amosland Road in Morton, PA. Because the building was built in 1875, the plumbing and electric are now very old and the cost of repairs continues to rise. Much of the space is minimally usable during the summer and winter months due to poor temperature regulation, and the basement is currently unusable. We need this space to be usable so we can continue our current growing children's ministries, as well as start our plans for more community outreach. The cost to update this building to meet our current and future ministry needs exceeds the cost to build new, so we must build. We are in great need of a new building. We plan to build at our present location. All architecture and site plans have been completed. The church has received approvals from both the township and the county, and the people in the neighborhood have been supportive of the building project; but we are in need of the finances to move forward. Would you join with us in praying that God will fully provide the funds for this new building? We are a small church, but we are fully committed to spreading the gospel and making disciples in Delaware County, and we need the Lord to do a miracle to make this building financially possible. Would you consider giving toward our church building project? By doing so, you would not be investing just in a building. You'd be investing in souls that will last for an eternity. We extend our sincere thanks to you for considering investing in God's work through our church by your giving! You may give by sending a check to the church and designating it "Building Fund," or you can give online using the link below.
