The 1967 football season was an exciting one for Navy football fans. The U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen
shocked the football world with victories over such national powers as Penn State, Michigan, Syracuse and
Army. Three of Navy's opponents that year played in major bowl games. It was Navy's most exciting season since
the 1963 team, quarterbacked by Roger Staubach, went to the Cotton Bowl.
The quarterback for Navy in 1967 was Senior John Cartwright, completing his third year as Navy's starting
quarterback. John broke 13 of Roger Staubach's records at Navy that year. In the video "From Passer To Pastor"
you will hear John share his personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and how God has led in his life since that
exciting season. In his message he will explain how this chapter in 1967 Navy football history can be used to
help you find peace with God for all eternity.
The video "From
Passer To Pastor" also includes highlights of the 1967 season's victories including the exciting
19-14 victory over a heavily favored Army team, and an upset victory over the Larry Csonka led Syracuse University
squad. You will be thrilled as you watch Navy come from behind in the last minute to beat Joe Paterno's Penn
State Nittany Lions 23-22.
