As part of our preparations for revival we have scheduled three prayer meetings leading up to the revival meetings. These prayer meetings will be held on the next two Thursdays, March 11th, and March 18th at noon. We will focus on our families, our church, and "God sent" revival for a sweet hour of prayer. We hope that those of you who are free during the day will join us. Please keep your calendar clear for the week of March 21 - 24 as we are planning a wonderful ministry to the family with Evangelist Tom Palmer. We all know that when we have made Jesus Christ the Lord over our lives, our families take on a priority that reflects our desire for them to know our God. These "Family Revival Services" will bring a refreshing to your walk with God and a restoration and revival to your family life beyond anything that you can imagine. Along with Ev. and Mrs. Palmer we will have their partners in ministry, Julie and Edwin Barton, who will focus on youth ministry and children's ministry during the week while Tom ministers to the adults. During this period of time leading up to the meetings, would you please pray and prepare your own heart and the hearts of your family members for a great meeting with God? Let us trust God together to fan the flames of revival in our hearts and our homes! If you have been wanting to learn how to witness for Christ, or if it has been a long time for you since you have been giving the gospel to others regularly, we have just the thing you need to re-kindle the fires of evangelism in you life. This class is a course dedicated to training people in evangelism and teaching them how to lead others to Christ. Another strong feature in this course is the emphasis on the student learning how to teach someone else how to give the gospel. This course is the book of Acts in action and if you will allow the Lord to work in you, He will transform your life forever through this course. Students and teachers, please make sure that all of your assignments are up to date for the next important lesson. "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15 God has been leading Pastor's wife, Thelma, to begin a new ministry for the younger women of our church patterned after the biblical instruction given in Titus 2:3-5. This exciting ministry will be held at the Cartwright's home from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. It will include: Bible studies, book studies, personal instruction on the family and much more. Please see Thelma for more information, and if you are one of our older women who would like to help in the teaching ministry, please see Thelma also. God has continued to bless the Faith In Action building fund as people are being faithful to the commitments that they have made to the Lord. Each week God seems to encourage us in some special way to remind us that He is the one who has begun this plan, and He is the one who is going to complete it. Recently we received new commitments and gifts that brought our Faith in Action totals to over $241,442.00. This takes us over our "Much Faith Goal" of $240,000.00 and gives us great joy in the faithful and abundant grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May we all pause now to give Him praise and glory! Church membership is the biblical principle of being part of a local body of believers who are committed to the fulfillment of the great commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ found in Matthew 28:18-20. Church membership also involves being a part of a body of believers who are committed to the great commandments of Matthew 22:36-40. In order to become a member at Calvary, you must first receive the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Also, you need to follow the Lord's command to be baptized (immersed) as a disciple of Jesus Christ and make your your commitment to follow Him and love Him and serve Him. (Cf. Acts 2:41-47) The Bible teaches that one of the first steps of obedience that a child of God can take is to be baptized (see Matt. 28:18-20).
