We would like to invite every friend and member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church to join us for the Fall session of the "Foundations Bible Study", which is a powerful 14 week course in the foundational truths of the Bible. Pastor Cartwright will be teaching this course at 9:45 AM each Sunday beginning Oct. 7 and continuing for the next seven weeks. We will break for the Winter months and then continue the study for seven weeks in the Spring. We will be signing people up for this course and asking them to make a commitment to attend every session. This course is designed to strengthen the faith of those who have known the Lord for many years and establish the faith of those who have just recently come to the Lord. Each class member will receive his own workbooks and will be responsible to complete their own studies during the week. It is going to be an exciting time of spiritual growth in all of our lives as we search and study the scriptures together! We have only two more weeks until The New Year begins and, with it, come many new opportunities to see the grace of God at work in our lives, in our families, and in our church. Please be praying now that God will give you a clear vision for what He wants to accomplish through your life in 2012. This is an exciting time for us to lay our lives before Him in total dedication and ask Him to take control of our lives so that we might bring Him glory and honor. During our Annual Stewardship Month, we will be learning each week how God can take the blessings which He has given to us and use them to honor and glorify His holy name. Some of you may be looking for a good place to find godly, Christian music that glorifies the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Church membership is the biblical principle of being part of a local body of believers who are committed to the fulfillment of the great commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ found in Matthew 28:18-20. Church membership also involves being a part of a body of believers who are committed to the great commandments of Matthew 22:36-40. In order to become a member at Calvary, you must first receive the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Also, you need to follow the Lord's command to be baptized (immersed) as a disciple of Jesus Christ and make your your commitment to follow Him and love Him and serve Him. If you would like to be a part of the membership of Calvary Independent Baptist Church please let us know by coming forward in the invitation time of the service or by seeing the Pastor personally. (Cf. Acts 2:41-47) The Bible teaches that one of the first steps of obedience that a child of God can take is to be baptized (see Matt. 28:18-20). If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, but have not taken this important step to be baptized yet, please see Pastor Cartwright and let us know your desire to fulfill God's will in this area of your life.
